What an awesome weekend of EPICness!!!! First of all this time around during tough times, this race was pretty much self funded and run by ourselves, we couldn’t have been any happier with the results as well as we committed to completing all 3 days of practice and two races– the car was still able to drive back on the trailer at the end day 3!! The engine is in top shape!
Saturday race we faced some minor issues which put us back to the group, however we were able to fight and we managed to gain our positions back and made it to the top half of the insane 103 field of cars.
Sunday, we had a strong start, and had a mishap dropped us from 2nd place to 20th. We were able to do flawless pit stops and a constant fight back to the top. We were in 17th, 13th, 7th, and before we knew it, we were back in 4th place towards the end and…… I guess I got a repeat of that fuel window to the last drop.. ran out of gas on the last lap! Made it to the top 5 with 5th place in C class and 26th overall!!! Again, it was an insane field of 103 cars!!!! This was all done with only three drivers! Lonnie Tanenberg, Jeff Wright, and Jeff Holden, our returning driver the 2022, TA2 Champion, drove with us at our previous race at Ridge Motorsports Park.
As well as shooting a movie for the Deafstig Project and the Deaf Power Racing team was insanely fun with @hazenfilms!! We are anticipating the movie premiere!
We were able to function flawlessly with a full deaf crew for our pit stops and garage work. I am much grateful and appreciation for our Deaf crew!! Brandon Duran, Tristan Boren, Tan Nguyen, and Sharif Rashedi. The dream team to make the dream work!
